The Hopi Elders

Carolus Linnaeus (1707-1778) was a Swedish botanist, physician, and zoologist who laid the foundations for the modern scheme of binomial nomenclature. He developed the original racial model of four races: white, yellow, red, and black. It was his protege, anthropology founder Johann Blumenbach, who completed his mentor’s color-coded race model by adding the brown race.

Browns in South Africa

In 1950s (and later) the racial slur “Colored” was invented to describe “brown people” from South Africa, including those born of black-white sexual union. The Afrikaans terms, which incorporate many subtleties of heritage, political agenda, and identity, are “bruin” (“brown”) , “bruines” (“browns”), and “bruinmense” (“brown people”). Some South Africans prefer the appellation “bruinmense” to “Colored”.

U.S. President Obama, born to a black father and a white mother, is not only the first black president but the first biracial, or “Brown” president.

Pardos in Brazil

In Brazil, the “brown people” are the “pardos”, one of the skin colour categories (“branco”, “pardo”, “preto”, “amarelo”, and “indigena” being Portuguese for “white”, “(grey) brown”, “black”, “yellow”, and “indigenous”, respectively) that have been used by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics since 1940. It is a broad classification that encompasses people of mixed race, mulattos, and assimilated indigenous people (“caboclos”).

Between the 16th and 19th centuries, this South American nation received more African slaves than any country in the Americas. But the shortage of white women, and a less rigid view of racial differences, led Portuguese settlers to mix more readily with nonwhite women than did their English counterparts in North America. The result was the creation of a large, racially mixed population. And unlike the Anglo Americans in the United States, who generally saw society in stark, bipolar racial terms and chose to deny the mixture that did occur, the Portuguese learned to view race on a continuum — white and black with many shades in between.

South Asia

It is said that the racial qualities mentioned by Elliot Smith were exactly the same as those mentioned by Giuseppe Sergi who wrote of the “Mediterranean race”. Sergi too spoke of a brown race, although he discussed their distribution throughout Afro-Eurasia. Scientific racism often included the populations of South Asia as blending from the Mediterranean (Europid) to the Australoid (Dravidian) race in a north-to-south gradient. The term ‘Brown’ was also used by British Empire as a derogatory term for natives of the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and Australia. Later, the term ‘Brown’ began to be used as descriptor for British people of South Asian origin.

The Punjabi people are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group from South Asia. They originate from the Punjab region, which has been host to some of the oldest civilizations in the world including one of the world’s first and oldest civilizations, the Indus Valley Civilization.

 Austronesians

The Austronesian-speaking peoples are various populations in Oceania and Southeast Asia that speak languages of the Austronesian family. They include Taiwanese aborigines; the majority ethnic groups of East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, Madagascar, Micronesia, and Polynesia, as well as the Polynesian peoples of New Zealand and Hawaii, and the non-Papuan people of Melanesia. They are also found in Singapore, the Pattani region of Thailand, and the Cham areas of Vietnam (remnants of the Champa kingdom which covered central and southern Vietnam), Cambodia, and Hainan, China. The territories populated by Austronesian-speaking peoples are known collectively as Austronesia.

The terms Hispanic and Latino tend to be used interchangeably in the United States for people with origins in Spanish-speaking or Portuguese-speaking countries, like Mexico, Costa Rica, and Brazil. The 1970 Census was the first time that a “Hispanic” identifier was used and data collected with the question. The definition of “Hispanic” has been modified in each successive census. The 2000 Census asked if the person was “Spanish/Hispanic/Latino”.

The U.S. Office of Management and Budget currently defines “Hispanic or Latino” as “a person of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race”. The U.S. Department of Transportation defines Hispanic to include, “persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Central or South American, or others Spanish or Portuguese culture or origin, regardless of race.”

Hispanic Ancestral Homeland

Aztlán (from Nahuatl: Aztlān, pronounced [ˈastɬaːn]) is the mythical ancestral home of the Nahua peoples, one of the main cultural groups in Mesoamerica. And, by extension, is the mythical homeland of the Uto-Aztecan peoples. Aztec is the Nahuatl word for “people from Aztlan”.

After the Spanish conquest of Mexico, the story of Aztlán gained importance and was reported by Fray Diego Durán in 1581 and others to be a kind of Eden-like paradise, free of disease and death, which existed somewhere in the far north. These stories helped fuel Spanish expeditions to what is now the American state of California.

In March 1969, hundreds of Chicano activists gathered for the First National Chicano Youth Liberation Conference in Denver, Colorado. The name of the conference is significant as it marks the replacement of term “Mexican” by “Chicano”.

At the conference, activists developed a manifesto of sorts called El Plan Espiritual de Aztlan or “The Spiritual Plan of Aztlán”. The plan presented for the first time a clear statement of the growing nationalist consciousness of the Chicano people. It raised the concept of Aztlan, a Chicano nation, and the need for Chicano control of the Chicano community.

Plan Program and Organizational Goals

El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán sets the theme that the Chicanos (La Raza de Bronze) must use their nationalism as the key or common denominator for mass mobilization and organization. Once we are committed to the idea and philosophy of El Plan de Aztlán, we can only conclude that social, economic, cultural, and political independence is the only road to total liberation from oppression, exploitation, and racism. Our struggle then must be for the control of our barrios, campos, pueblos, lands, our economy, our culture and our political life. El Plan commits all levels of Chicano society – the barrio, the campo, the ranchero, the writer, the teacher, the worker, the professional – to La Causa.

UNITY in the thinking of our people concerning the barrios, the pueblo, the campo, the land, the poor, the middle class, the professional-all committed to the liberation of La Raza.

ECONOMY: economic control of our lives and our communities can only come about by driving the exploiter out of our communities, our pueblos, and our lands and by controlling and developing our own talents, sweat, and resources. Cultural background and values which ignore materialism and embrace humanism will contribute to the act of cooperative buying and the distribution of resources and production to sustain an economic base for healthy growth and development Lands rightfully ours will be fought for and defended. Land and realty ownership will be acquired by the community for the people’s welfare. Economic ties of responsibility must be secured by nationalism and the Chicano defense units.

EDUCATION must be relative to our people, i.e., history, culture, bilingual education, contributions, etc. Community control of our schools, our teachers, our administrators, our counselors, and our programs.

INSTITUTIONS shall serve our people by providing the service necessary for a full life and their welfare on the basis of restitution, not handouts or beggar’s crumbs. Restitution for past economic slavery, political exploitation, ethnic and cultural psychological destruction and denial of civil and human rights. Institutions in our community which do not serve the people have no place in the community. The institutions belong to the people.

SELF-DEFENSE of the community must rely on the combined strength of the people. The front line defense will come from the barrios, the campos, the pueblos, and the ranchitos. Their involvement as protectors of their people will be given respect and dignity. They in turn offer their responsibility and their lives for their people. Those who place themselves in the front ranks for their people do so out of love and carnalismo. Those institutions which are fattened by our brothers to provide employment and political pork barrels for the gringo will do so only as acts of liberation and for La Causa. For the very young there will no longer be acts of juvenile delinquency, but revolutionary acts.

CULTURAL values of our people strengthen our identity and the moral backbone of the movement. Our culture unites and educates the family of La Raza towards liberation with one heart and one mind. We must insure that our writers, poets, musicians, and artists produce literature and art that is appealing to our people and relates to our revolutionary culture. Our cultural values of life, family, and home will serve as a powerful weapon to defeat the gringo dollar value system and encourage the process of love and brotherhood.

POLITICAL LIBERATION can only come through independent action on our part, since the two-party system is the same animal with two heads that feed from the same trough. Where we are a majority, we will control; where we are a minority, we will represent a pressure group; nationally, we will represent one party: La Familia de La Raza!

Declaration and Reclamation

The Great Unification is the fulfillment of worldwide prophecies handed down throughout the ages and will come about from a spiritual force, not a political or religious one! Humanity has displayed a woeful lack of vision in the way that it has fumbled with the eternal laws of life. It is not enough that we now hopefully commit our minds or serve faithfully with our bodies. America, as most nations of the world, desperately needs a Spiritual vision of its own purpose, rooted deeply in natural law that respects the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of all life on this emerald, green planet. No longer will our man-made laws fail, treaties be broken or the rights of humankind stand violated.

The declaration and reclamation of Sovereign Rights from oppressive governments and dictatorships is imperative for each individual, tribe, clan, territory, state, nation and country, in order to be fully responsive to the accelerating needs of its people and their ecology. The preservation of the uniqueness and diversity of each culture and heritage with its regional ecosystems is absolutely urgent and necessary, for the very survival of our Earth and all living beings. If we do not understand our past clearly, it will be difficult if not impossible to perceive our future. We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.

Cry for Freedom

The human cry for truth and freedom has long since been denied in some form or another; as a disempowering compromise or an out and out deception of our basic human rights. The not-so-subtle motivations of greed and competition have allowed for the impurity of intent to influence our world leaders. This has led us up to our present state of unhealthy and unholy affairs in all aspects of human endeavor. Human beings can no longer wait for our present political and religious leaders to satisfy our deep desire for peace.

Freedom is not a thing that is granted or taken away from a human being at the whim of a destructive or benevolent government! Freedom is a god given right that no man or government has the right to control!

It is evident that our modern world and its technological applications have been predominantly in the wrong hands! It is time for human beings to apply ancient aboriginal wisdom and true spiritual values infused with the Holy Spirit along with appropriate the technologies that are in balance with Nature to co-create a spiritual force so powerful as to usher forth a new paradigm of peace and prosperity for all!

Humanity will indeed realize that good government (the will of the people) starts in one’s heart! From the ‘vantage point’ of our collective sovereignty we will rise above all else through the unification of “God’s will in action” that has never been experienced before. An evolution / revolution (non-violent) is being called forth!

If those in so called control continue to overlook their original aboriginal peoples, the indigenous Earth Keepers, they will surely miss their opportunity within the divine order of our collective ‘planetary redemption’ toward having their own Sovereignty restored as well! Indigenous peoples and their time-cured cultures all over the World, have demonstrated efficiency and sustainability in taking care of our Mother Earth. Our Indigenous cultures have provided the real historical model of sustainable development in the natural world.

Sovereign United Nations

For our salvation the Indigenous peoples of the world, on behalf all peoples, must unite in a Sovereign United Nations as the Children of the S.U.N. and become our primary decision makers to insure us a future of a sustainable world ecology! This is our prime planetary responsibility!

The Declaration of these Sovereign United Nations was inspired by the Declaration of Independence of the 13 United States of America, written by Founding Forefathers Thomas Paine and Benjamin Franklin by their comprehensive studies of the Iroquois Confederacy and the thousand year old “Great Law of Peace” given by the Peacemaker Hiawatha. The early drafts of the American Constitution included Iroquois language, for English words were too limiting:

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for us as a people, tribe, state, nation or country to dissolve the political bands which have denied us our royal sovereign rights, by any other governing body or individual, and re-establish our royal sovereign rights as a Sovereign United Nations. It is with the understanding that individual and equal rights, to which the laws of nature and nature’s God entitles us, in due respect to our culture, heritage and regional ecology, that we hereby establish this Declaration of The Sovereign United Nations.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all peoples are created equal in the eyes of our Creator, and that they are endowed with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, happiness and the pursuit of enlightenment! To secure these God given rights, the charter of the Sovereign United Nations is to be initiated by the people of existing dissatisfied tribes, states, nations and countries, thereby re-establishing their rights to self-determination with due respect to interdependence and deriving their just powers from an evolving consent of the peoples of the designated bio-region. Whenever any form of government or dictatorship becomes destructive to the fundamental liberties of the people, it is the right of the people within their tribe, state, nation or country to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new applicable form of de-centralized, self-governing. By laying a foundation on such principles of Unity through diversity and diversity through unity under royal sovereignty and Natural Law and organizing its powers in such form, the people will directly determine their own freedoms and happiness!

It is agreed that governments that are long standing and ineffective for the present and the future liberty, health and happiness of it’s people will be changed, not for transient causes, but out of due respect to the invincibility of the people and their bio-regional integrity. But, when a long history of abuses and usurpation’s by those dictators and governments with their connecting institutions and agencies to it’s people, disempower the people by over stepping their rights under absolute despotism, it is the peoples’ right, it is their duty, to throw off such dictators and governments, for their future liberty and security. Such has been the patient sufferance of many tribes, states, nations, countries and individuals. The Sovereign United Nations is the foundation stone for Royal Sovereignty through Peaceful coexistence and sustainability and shall expose the opposing forces to the candid world via an unbiased media agency, which will inspire the world to immediately alter their former systems of denial and control.

Therefore, the Sovereign United Nations appeals to the good will of the peoples through the integrity of our intentions and do, in the name, and by the authority of the peoples of the World, joyfully ordain and declare that all peoples are free and sovereign; that they are absolved from their oppressors and are in alignment with God/Goddess All That Is and the original intentions of a peaceful and sustainable coexistence. All political connections between the Sovereign United Nations and their previous oppressive dictators and/or governments, are and will be totally dissolved. As free and Sovereign Nations, all now and in the future shall collectively regain their full power which will abolish oppressive law, bring about World Peace and prosperity through the unified efforts of restoring the ecology and do all other acts and things which Sovereign United Nations shall do by Natural Law and Cosmic order in the peoples’ best interest. We are united in our sacred honor for the support of the Sovereign United Nations with a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence and our Creator!    – Written for the S.U.N. by Amarushka

All peoples of North, Central and South America must claim their sovereignty via a Council of International Earth Keepers and Spiritual Leaders, establishing the foundation stone for a true “Sovereign United Nations”.

The below Charter of a Sovereign United Nations is adapted from United Nations Declaration on Human Rights, and is a sample only. It is expected that the first meeting of a S.U.N. Council as representatives of all Peoples, Nations, Clans, Tribes and States will make the writing and ratification of a Sovereign Charter its first priority. As an International Covenant on Economic, Social, Cultural and Moral Rights, said Charter must affirm the fundamental importance of the rights of self-determination of all peoples, by virtue of which they freely determine their spiritual status and freely pursue their spiritual, Gnostic, economic, social and cultural development:

1. The subjection of peoples and their ecology to alien subjugation, dominion and exploitation constitutes a denial of fundamental human rights, is contrary to the rights of sovereignty and is an impediment to the promotion of World Peace and ecological sustainability.

2. All peoples have the right to sovereignty; by virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social, spiritual and cultural development.

3. Any inadequacy of political, economic, social or educational preparedness should never serve as a pretext for delaying a peoples’ sovereignty.

4. All armed action or repressive measures, overt or submissive, directed against peoples and their bioregional ecology, shall cease in order to enable them to exercise peacefully and freely their complete autonomy and environmental integrity.

5. Immediate steps shall be taken in trust, in non-self-governing territories or all other regions which have not yet attained their sovereignty, to transfer all powers to the peoples of those territories and regions, without any conditions or reservations, in accordance with their freely expressed will and desire, without any distinction as to race, creed or color, in order to enable them to enjoy complete sovereignty.

6. Any attempt aimed at the partial or total disruption of any of the Sovereign United Nations and their territorial integrity is incompatible with the processes and principles of Natural Law as here set forth in the rights to sovereignty.

7. Each tribe, state, nation, country, territory shall have the right to establish a self governing body for the purpose of re-educating and informing all the peoples of their rights, and determining the outcome of collectively shared resources and ecological challenges of their respective bio-regions.

The Legacy of Our Time

The history books tell us that the colonists made the long and dangerous journey in small ships in order to find a place where they could worship God, each according to the dictates of his own conscience. There is however much more to the story than our historians have dared to suggest.  Among the colonizers were some who belonged to the Order of the Quest, but it was not long before religious strife broke out in the colonies, for men do not change their natures merely by changing their place of habitation. Much of the intolerance of the old world came over to plague the beginnings of the new civilization. It was not easy to preserve high principles in pioneering a country. A lot had to be done before the philosophic empire could emerge out of the simple struggle for existence. And much has yet to be accomplished; we are still pioneering in the sphere of right thinking and right living.

Bacon’s Secret Society

Bacon’s secret society was set up in America before the middle of the 17th Century. Bacon himself had given up all hope of bringing his dream to fruition in his own country, and he concentrated his attention upon rooting it in the new world. He made sure that the American colonists were thoroughly indoctrinated with the principles of religious tolerance, political democracy, and social equality. Through carefully appointed representatives, the machinery of democracy was set up at least a hundred years before the period of the Revolutionary War.

The above cover to Sir Francis Bacon’s Instauratio Magna depicts a ship sailing through two classical columns into an open sea; it symbolizes moving beyond the limits of classical (i.e., ancient Greek) scholarship into a realm of potential unlimited natural knowledge. Francis Bacon challenged contemporary understanding of science as the contemplation of eternal truths long since discovered. In its place he proposed a conception of science as the active investigation of the unknown.  At the heart of Bacon’s reasoning is the Instauratio magna (‘Great Renewing’). Its famous frontispiece, shown here, depicts a ship travelling between the metaphorical Pillars of Hercules which were thought to lie at the Strait of Gibraltar and which marked the limit of the known world for classical Greek civilization. It is therefore an allegory for the new world of knowledge beyond the traditional philosophy taught in universities. A Latin phrase below the Pillars is from the Book of Daniel and may be translated as “Many will pass through and knowledge will be increased”.

Bacon’s secret society membership was not limited to England; it was most powerful in Germany, in France, and in the Netherlands, and most of the leaders of European thought were involved in the vast pattern of his purpose. The mystic empire of the wise had no national boundaries and its citizenry was made up of men of good purpose in every land. The Alchemists, Cabalists, Mystics, and Rosicrucians were the incisive instruments of Bacon’s plan. Representatives of these groups migrated to the colonies at an early date and set up their organization in suitable places.

One example will indicate the trend. About 1690, the German Pietist theologian, Magistar Johannes Kelpius, sailed for America with a group of followers, all of whom practiced mystical and esoteric rites. The Pietists settled in Pennsylvania and their descendents still flourish in Lancaster county. Kelpius for some years lived as an Anchorite in a cave located in what is now Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. The Pietists brought with them the writings of the German mystic, Jacob Boehme, books on magic, astrology, alchemy, and the cabala. They had curious manuscripts illuminated with strange designs, and their principal text was called   “An ABC Book for Young Students Studying in the College of the Holy Ghost.“ The Pietists brought the order of the Mustard Seed, and the Order of the Woman in the Wilderness to the new world.

Kelpius was a man of feeble health and after a few years died from the hardships and exposures of his religious austerity. The inner circle of his order was composed entirely of celibates, and as these died there were none to take their places; and so far as the public knows, his secret society did not survive. Actually it did continue; but with the changing of the times it returned again to its secret foundations, disappearing entirely from the public view.

The early years of the 18th Century brought with them many changes in the social and political life of the American colonies. By this time most of the Atlantic seaboard was dominated by the English. Cities had sprung up, important trade flourished with the mother country, and the colonial atmosphere was in small counterpart that of the English countryside.

The first modern Freemasons’ Lodge was held at Twickenham Park and Gray’s Inn, London England. It consisted of Three Degrees and the Royal Arch. It’s first members were drawn from the Rosicrosse Literary Society: A Rosicrosse-Mason was a Brother who was privy to the Secrets of the Craft and the Rose.

Francis Bacon created the Higher Christian Degrees gradually through the years, the majority being tried out at Twickenham Lodge. In 1620 all the Degrees had been created with their traditional histories, feigned tales and rituals; and the Brotherhood was well established in Lodges, Chapters and Presbyteries dotted all over the Kingdom England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Continent. It had even spread through military and naval officers and gentlemen to the New World.

By this time most of the important secret societies of Europe were well represented in this country. The brotherhoods met in their rooms over inns and similar public buildings, practicing their ancient rituals exactly according to the fashion in Europe and England. These American organizations were branches under European sovereignty, with the members in the two hemispheres bound together with the strongest bonds of sympathy and understanding. The program that Bacon had outlined was working out according to schedule. Quietly and industriously, America was being conditioned for its destiny–leadership in a free world.

A Short Chronology

The history of Colonial Williamsburg from early colonial times is not accessible on any exact level. Court records were destroyed and much of the original history has been lost. What is known is that the area called the Middle Plantation, where the Bruton Church sits, was laid out in 1633. Three original wood-built churches and parishes were merged into one and it was called the Bruton Parish.  Bruton Parish would become Williamsburg in 1699.

1606 – The Virginia Company:

Francis Bacon played a leading role in creating the British colonies in the New World, especially in Virginia, the Carolinas, and Newfoundland in northeastern Canada. In 1910 Newfoundland issued a postage stamp to commemorate Bacon’s role in establishing Newfoundland. The Virginia Company was Chartered in 1606 by King James of England, 1609 records indicate that Francis Bacon was a founding member:

“Bacon quickly realized that here in the New World was the proper environment for the accomplishment of his great dream, the establishment of the philosophic empire…he was the head of a secret society including in its membership the most brilliant intellectuals of his day (and) together with Bacon, they devised the colonization scheme.”  – Manly Palmer Hall, The Secret Destiny of America

1626 – Bacon’s New Atlantis was published:

The New Atlantis was published a year after Francis Bacon’s death, by his secretary, friend and chaplain William Rawley.  Subtitled:  “In time the hidden truth shall be revealed”, the book represented Bacon’s vision for a new Golden Age.  According to Manly Hall, the New Atlantis:

“Revealed the entire pattern of the secret societies which had been working for thousands of years to achieve the ideal commonwealth in the political world.” — Manly Palmer Hall, The Secret Destiny of America

1635 – Original vault built at Jamestown:

In 1635 Francis Bacon’s half-brother, Henry Blount whom later changed his name to Sir Nathaniel Bacon arrived in the New World, taking up residence at Jamestown, and eventually Stiffkey in Norfolk.  Nathaniel Bacon was an English lawyer and Member of Parliament.   He was admitted to Gray’s Inn in 1562, and became an “ancient” of the Inn in 1576. He was MP (member of Parliment) numerous times, served as High Sheriff of Norfolk in 1599 and was Knighted in 1604.

Manly and Marie Hall, through their deciphering of hidden codes placed in various writings contemporary to Francis Bacon, including A Collection of Emblems (George Wither, 1635) and a number of Shakespearean plays, found evidence that Nathaniel Bacon built a vault under the altar of the original Jamestown Church to hold documents he brought from England pertaining to the founding of America.

1676 – Vault contents transferred to Williamsburg:

In 1676 Nathaniel Bacon led a rebellion against the then Governor of Virginia, William Berkeley, called by history “Bacon’s Rebellion”.  While the contents of the Jamestown vault could have been moved from Jamestown to its current location in the Bruton Parish Churchyard anytime between 1633 and 1699, many scholars believe the new vault was built and its contents placed under cover of the Rebellion in 1676.  One possible reason given for moving the contents of the vault was the then rising water levels surrounding Jamestown.

It has been demonstrated conclusively that the majority of the Founding Forefathers of the United States of America were Free Masons, and that the architecture they built (including the layout of the Nation’s Capital in Washington, DC ) were laid out according to ancient principals of sacred geometry. According to Marie B. Hall, it was common practice by Masons, when building a church or temple, to place a sacred vault under the alter of the church.  It was thus expected that the original Bruton Parish Church was built over the top of the vault, with the vault situated below the alter.

According to the codes deciphered by Manly and Marie Hall, the vault was a 10 ft. by 10 ft. brick vault, buried 20 ft. deep.  As stated earlier, its location was marked by certain, strategically placed encoded memorials in the cemetery above.

The size and location of the Vault was later proven through the 1938 use of Ground Penetrating Radar, then a newly invented technology used in mining.

1760-1790 – Founding Forefathers utilize contents of the Vault:

During those years most critical to the founding of America, including throughout the process of writing our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights, it is a known fact that Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, George Mason, Benjamin Franklin, Patrick Henry and Henry Clay were Master Masons and lived and studied at the house of George Wythe, directly behind Bruton Parish Church.

Deciphered codes on the gravestones of the Parish churchyard discovered by Marie B. Hall indicated that a tunnel led from the vicinity of George Wythe’s house to the hidden Vault.

The United States of America’s third US President, Thomas Jefferson wrote:

“Bacon, Locke and Newton: I consider them as the three greatest men that have ever lived, without any exception, and as having laid the foundation of those superstructures which have been raised in the physical and moral sciences.”  – The Letters of Thomas Jefferson: 1743-1826 Bacon, Locke, and Newton

1938 - Formal excavation:

In 1938, an excavation initiated by Maria Bauer Hall took place, which revealed the foundations of the original Masonic Church in the Bruton Churchyard.  While knowledge of the locations of these foundations had been lost for well over a century, Mrs. Hall was able to locate them easily through her and her husband’s research into Elizabethan cipher’s placed in the George Wither book and the Shakespearian play, Hamlet, which led to ciphers placed directly on gravestones in the Bruton graveyard itself!

Unfortunately Mrs. Hall’s excavation was halted by Church officials before she was able to complete an excavation for the Vault itself.

1991 – An informal excavation:

On the night of September 09, 1991, a group of individuals affiliated with the Ministry of the Children did an unauthorized dig for the Bruton Vault.  The intent of this excavation was first and foremost to bring to the attention of the American public their true, spiritual legacy still buried in the ground.  While they were unable that night to reach the Vault, the local, national and international media coverage and focus brought to Bruton Parish Church and the Vault created a revival in knowledge and interest in this precious national treasure.  The story of the excavation eventually become the Virginia State Story of the Year for 1991.

There are many important documents of antiquity that have been said to have been placed in the vault, based on fact, oral history, rumor and fantasy.  Among them are:

1. Secret documents related to the founding vision of Sir Francis Bacon for America as a Utopian Democratic Commonwealth, including the full-length version of Bacons’ vision of a New Atlantis.
2. Ancient writings that had been in the possession of certain secret societies.
3. Instructions, maps, and documents that lead to repositories of certain Founding Forefathers, Patriots and early leaders in America that in turn contained original writings, diaries and documentation.
4. Documentation of Sir Francis Bacon’s true legacy, both in England and America, including his authorship of the Shakespearian plays, his original Tudor birth records showing him to be the illegitimate son of Queen Elizabeth I, an unabridged version of the King James version of the Bible, translated by Bacon and more.
5. Locations and contents of similar Vaults worldwide.

Evidence for the existence of the Bruton Vault in the Bruton Parish churchyard of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia is speculative.  While no ‘smoking gun’ has yet to be discovered, a large body of empirical data, including ciphers incorporated into the tombstones of the parish churchyard that led to the uncovering of the long lost foundations of the original church structure, ground sonar tests, blueprints for the 1st brick church and much, much more all provide strong, circumstantial evidence that a Masonic Vault DOES in fact exist, and that it was placed in Williamsburg with the knowledge and participation of Sir Francis Bacon.

The willingness on the part of the Vestry of Bruton Parish Church to do an authorized, extensive archeological exploration of the parish churchyard could reveal once and for all the truth:  that there is indeed a vault, and that it was instrumental in providing our founding forefathers access to the legacy of Francis Bacon’s blueprint for a great, utopian commonwealth experiment, a legacy that resulted in the founding United States of America.
